One of the personal drivers to member representing Ido/Eruwa Federal Constituency, Hon Yemi Taiwo, Amidu was reportedly among three other Peoples Democratic Party, PDP supporters who were matcheted late on Friday night by suspected thugs of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Lanlate in Ibarapa East Local Government.
The victims allegedly gathered at Imale in Ward 7, Lanlate to perfect arrangements ahead of Saturday, 18th March Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections when they were attacked by the thugs
An eye witness account said another injured person was the husband of a serving PDP Councillor in Ibarapa East Local Government, Mr Azeez.
The victims who sustained varying degrees of injuries and are said to be receiving treatment at different hospitals in the area.
The source gave the names of other two victims as Mr Musiliu and Mr Garaji.
Report says it took the swift intervention of the security agents before the situation could be brought under control.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the PDP in Ibarapa East Local Government have appealed to the Nigerian Police Force to beef up security in Lanlate to forestall the breakdown of law and order, and ensure a peaceful and orderly Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the area.
