Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has announced government’s decision to name the ongoing housing estate project in Samonda, Ibadan after late House Of Representatives Member, Hon. Olaide Akinremi popularly called “Jagaban” to immortalise him.
Governor Makinde who was represented by the deputy governor, Chief Bayo Lawal, disclosed this at the 8th day Fidau and celebration of life for the deceased All Progressives Congress, APC lawmaker, who represented Ibadan North federal constituency.
Governor Makinde said the estate would be named “Musiliu Olaide Akinremi estate” when completed.
The Governor who extended his condolences to the friends and family of the late lawmaker, urged associates of the deceased and members of the house of representatives to unite and ensure the void left by the demise of Mr. Akinremi is not felt too deeply.
Also speaking, the publicity of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state, Mr Olawale Sadare said the deceased had remarkable impacts on the lives of his constituents through massive empowerment programmes and will be solely missed.
Earlier in an admonition, an Islamic cleric, Abdulakeem Afuye said death was inevitable irrespective of age and time, urging people to embody good values as their legacies.
Speaking with newsmen, one of the sons of the deceased, Prince Olawale Akinremi, described his late father as a father figure and remarkable personality.
