The Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Iseyin Command, on Thursday, recovered the corpse of a 45-year-old man who fell into a deep well in the Odo-Ogbo, Oja-Agbe area of Iseyin Local Government Area of the state.
The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Fire Reform and Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan, the state capital.

According to him, the incident occurred on Wednesday night and was reported to the fire service at about 9:04 am on Thursday by a resident identified as Mrs Azeez Iyabo.

Akinwande said, “The emergency was reported at exactly 09:04 hours on Thursday, November 6, 2025, through a running caller, Mrs Azeez Iyabo, who reported that someone was trapped in a deep well at the above address.
“The agency’s officers, led by CFS Banuso, promptly responded and were deployed to the scene of the incident. On getting there, it was discovered that a man of about 45 years of age had fallen into a deep well on Wednesday night.
“Our officers quickly swung into action, applied all necessary rescue equipment, and successfully recovered the man’s body from the well. The corpse was thereafter handed over to a team of policemen from the Okutapemo Divisional Headquarters, Iseyin.”
Akinwande urged residents to be cautious in their daily activities and avoid taking unnecessary risks that could endanger their lives.
