In line with the prescribed and consenting over all Chieftaincy matters in Ibadanland, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja will on Friday 7th November, 2025 preside over the promotion exercise of five monarchs to the next ranks on Otun Olubadan line, at Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The affected monarchs are Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, who will be promoted to Otun Olubadan, Asipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi to be promoted to Osi Olubadan while Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Hamidu Ajibade would be promoted to Asipa Olubadan.
Others are, Oba Adebayo Akande, who will move from Ekarun Olúbàdàn to Ekerin Olubadan, while Chief Kola Babalola, SAN, will be promoted from Abese Olubadan to Ekarun Olubadan which will him to become a member of Olubadan-in-Council.
The promotion follows the emergence of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland and his ascension from the Otun Olubadan line.
According to a Statement from the Media Aide to Olubadan, Chief Adeola Oloko, Oluwo of Ibadanland, Oluwo Afobaje Labosinde will perform the exercise while Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and other dignitaries are expected to join the Olubadan of Ibadanland at the occasion.
The statement adds that though, the promotion exercise will affect the 21 chiefs on the Otun Olubadan line, but the first set of people to be promoted are the most senior on the line.
