Leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party in Ibadan Northeast and Southeast federal constituency have resolved to continue to encourage peace and unity for the interest of members of the party.
The resolution was made during a meeting held at the Ibadan Southeast local government secretariat, at Mapo, Ibadan.
In attendance at the meeting were: Prof. Sangodoyin – state commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo – Ibadan Northeast local government chairman, Hon. Alawode Emmanuel Oluwole – Ibadan Southeast local government chairman, Hon. Mogaji Akinajo Olamide – Special Assistant to governor on Ibadan Northeast/Southeast federal constituency matters.
At the meeting, the PDP Ibadan Northeast/Southeast leaders renewed their commitments to discipline in the interest of the party.
They also unanimously agreed on the need to speed up the reconciliation process and strengthen the party for the task ahead.
According to the convener of the political meeting, Hon. Olamide Akinajo, he said, the leaders and stakeholders of PDP in Ibadan Northeast and Southeast federal constituency gathered to strategize on how to strengthen their effort in unifying all members of the party ahead of of coming election and beyond.
Akinajo at the meeting expressed Governor Makinde’s concerns about disputes within the party especially in the Ibadan Northeast/Southeast federal constituency, and reiterated the need for all disputes should be settled amicably.
He said, “The meeting committed to stabilizing and positioning our party to a greater height. To this end, we will continue to promote peace and unity as well as reconcile l aggrieved members has started today and I believe it will have good results
In their remarks, the local government party chairman from Ibadan Northeast and Southeast, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun Abuye confirmed there were unresolved issues in the party but assured unity among all factions before April 27th local government elections.
They emphasized the need for PDP to continue to be the ruling party, even after Governor Seyi Makinde’s tenure.
