The Oyo State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the Oyo State Supplementary Finance Bill, 2026, approving an additional N210 billion to fund the state’s supplementary appropriation for the 2026 fiscal year.
The passage followed the presentation and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning during plenary.

Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola, said the Bill was considered clause by clause. He noted that inputs from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and projections in the Oyo State Government Medium Term Expenditure Framework were taken into account.

With the approval, the total amount under the 2026 Finance Law now rose from N892,085,074,480.79 to N1,102,085,074,480.79.
The Committee recommended that the N210 billion be drawn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Oyo State for the year ending December 31, 2026, with sources of funds as contained in the schedule to the Bill.
The passage brings the total approved 2026 financial provision for the state to over N1.1 trillion.
Speaking with journalists after plenary, Hon. Babalola said the action was in demonstration of the House’s commitment to sustainable development and critical infrastructure in Oyo State.
He disclosed that the N210 billion supplementary budget is mainly to fund infrastructural development.
”For example, the Ministry of Works has N210 billion as its supplementary allocation. We also have provisions for Oyo State’s investment in the upgrade of the Ladoke Akintola International Airport, which is ongoing. As you can see, the vision of this administration is to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed before the end of the tenure of Governor Seyi Makinde,” he said.
”And I can tell you, the House scrutinised every detail in the budget, and we are satisfied. That is why you are seeing us pass it into law this evening,” Hon. Babalola added.
