Oyo APC Peace Advocates Convener, Adeyoju ‘SDM’, Felicitates Amb. Florence Ajimobi on IAEA Board Appointment

The Convener of Oyo APC Peace Advocates, Prince Niran Adeyoju (SDM), has congratulated Ambassador Dr. Florence Ajimobi on her appointment as Nigeria’s Governor on the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the 2026–2028 term, describing the development as a proud moment for Oyo State and Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday by the publicity secretary, Prince Adeyoju said Ambassador Ajimobi’s appointment reflects her distinguished diplomatic career and Nigeria’s growing role in international affairs.

He noted that the appointment, which followed Nigeria’s election to the influential 35-member IAEA Board during the Agency’s 70th General Conference in Vienna, places the Nigerian diplomat at the centre of one of the world’s foremost nuclear policy-making institutions.

According to him, the former Oyo First Lady has continued to distinguish herself through dedication, competence and commitment to national service, making her appointment well deserved.

> “On behalf of the Oyo APC Peace Advocates, I heartily congratulate Ambassador Dr. Florence Ajimobi on this prestigious international appointment. It is a recognition of her outstanding service, professionalism and unwavering commitment to representing Nigeria with excellence on the global stage,” Adeyoju said.

He added that Ambassador Ajimobi’s new responsibility would provide Nigeria with a stronger platform to contribute to global discussions on nuclear safety, security, peaceful applications of nuclear science and international cooperation.

Prince Adeyoju expressed confidence that she would effectively advance Nigeria’s interests while strengthening the country’s voice in international diplomacy.

He also described the appointment as an inspiration to women, young professionals and aspiring diplomats, saying it demonstrates that dedication and excellence can earn global recognition.
