After much tussle, it appears that the road is clear for Adebayo Adelabu to contest the governorship seat under the Umbrella of Accord Party.
Adelabu who pulled out of All Progressives Congress,Apc, Oyo state after alleging that the process of the party primaries that produced Senator Teslim Folarin as the governorship flag bearer was marred with irregularities.
Chief Adelabu however, had troubles securing Accord Party’s governorship ticket as his moves were repelled by Saheed Ajadi, Accord Party governorship candidate in 2019 election who had also obtained the form to vie for the same office in 2023.
The tussle has been tense, putting the party under pressure leading to subsequent postponement of the party primaries due to the internal wrangling.
However,report has it that there was a finalisation discussion with Accord National Working Committee members at the Accord National Headquarters in Abuja earlier in the week .
Chief Adebayo Adelabu was with the National Chairman of Accord, Dr Lawal Nalado, the National Secretary, Hon (Dr) Adebukola Ajaja, the National Treasurer, Barrister Mike Lerama, the National Legal Officer, Barrister Maxwell Ngbudem, the National Youth Leader, the National Women Leader, the National Vice Chairman, South West and Others.
Also with Adelabu were Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Right Hon. Gunju Ojo, Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, Hon. Abass Aleshinloye, Hon. Gbenga Olayemi, Hon. Segun Babalola, Hon. Nureni Adisa and others.
The outcome of the meeting is believe to be in the favour of Adelabu with all body languages signalling that Accord Party is now in one accord.
