Osun LG Election: Police Arrest Commission’s Officials On Duty – OSSIEC Chairman Alleges
The chairman, Osun State lndependent electoral commission, OSSIEC, Mr Hasim Abioye says some staff of the commission on electoral duty were arrested by the police today without commiting any crime.
He also disclosed that the OSSIEC head office in Osogbo was sealed off by the police.
Mr Abioye who condemned this attitude while speaking with newsmen said this was unwarranted as no court gave such order.
He said accreditation materials could not be provided early in some areas as a result of this development.
Mr Abioye however said new materials have been deployed and voting commenced though very late in those areas.
He commended the electorate for conducting themselves peacefully despite the false alarm raised by the police.
