Osun Gets New Commissioner Of Police (Profile)

A new Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Umar Abba has assumed duty at the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

This followed the recent promotion of former Commissioner of Police, Mr Bzigu Kwazhi to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AlG.

Mr. Abba was born on June 22, 1965 in Tundun Wada Local Government, Kano State and holds a B.A in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano State

He was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in May, 1992 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP).

Mr Abba has served in various capacities at different States of the Country namely: Administration, Operations and Investigations.

He was a Sectional Head, Counter Terrorism and General Investigation Section, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Headquarters, Abuja – 2016. Deputy Director of Operations Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC- 2016 – 2017.

Director of Operations Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC – 2017-2020. Acting Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC- July 2020 – March 2021.
