Ooni, Others In Attendance As Gov Adeleke Presents Staff of Office To New Owa Obokun Of Ijesa Land
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has Presented certificate and staff of office to THE NEW OWA OBOKUN OF IJESA LAND, OBA ADESUYI CLEMENT HAASTRUP.
Governor Adeleke performed the ceremony at the Palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Ereja Square, Ilesa.
Presenting the staff of office and royal Certificate to the new Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesa, Governor Adeleke who described the installation of the new king as a new dawn said the time for the contest has gone behind, urging people to rally-round the new king to build a stronger and prosperous future for the land.
Governor Adeleke tasked the new king to see himself as the father of all, calling on the sons and daughters of Ijesaland to continue the good work of developing the land.
In his acceptance speech, the Paramount ruler of Ijesaland, the Owa Obokun, Ajimoko the third, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup said his immediate priority was to consolidate on the unity and progress of Ijesa, saying his energy would be channelled towards the establishment of Ijesa Technical Institute as it is done in China, Ghana and other places around the world.
While appreciating God for using people to bring him to the throne, Oba Haastrup promised to rule with wisdom, justice and compassion to justify the trust reposed on him.
Dignitaries at the ceremony were political and traditional creams of the society including, Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi, Orangun of Oke Ila Orangun, Oba Adedokun Abolarin among other prominent personalities
