Owners of nightclubs and those who run unlicensed alcohol businesses near schools in Ondo state have been given a seven-day deadline to vacate or face having their buildings razed.
When briefing journalists at the governor’s office in Akure following the state executive council meeting, information commissioner Mrs. Bamidele Oladele-Olateju delivered the ultimatum.
She claimed that because of the harm it does to schoolchildren, it was observed that some people set up their businesses and kiosks near schools, selling alcohol and hosting student nightclubs.
In the meanwhile, the government has warned citizens against engaging in any unsanitary behaviors that don’t involve washing their hands in order to prevent the COVID 19 virus from reappearing.
According to the report, farmers and traders were also warned against sun-drying items by the roadside, including corn, yam, and cassava flour, which were frequently contaminated by rats and contributed to the spread of the deadly Lassa disease.
