The Ondo State House of Assembly has passed the sum of two hundred and seventy five billion,nine hundred and seventy nine million, one hundred and eighty four thousand naira for the state 2023 budget.
The budget is over three billion naira higher than the two hundred and seventy two billion naira proposal presented by governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
In the passed budget , recurrent expenditure is put at one hundred and twenty nine billion, eight hundred million as against ninety seven billion naira earlier proposed.
Capital expenditure is put at one hundred and seventy three billion,one hundred and thirty nine million as against one hundred and forty three billion five hundred and eleven million naira.
Submitting the report , the chairman house committee on finance and appropriation Mr Akintomide Akinrogunde noted that the budget was adjusted in line with the current economic realities.
The committee recommended that all MDAs should exceed their revenue generation target and work with the state Internal Revenue service to block leakages.
Earlier the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun thanked the lawmakers for their collective sacrifice and the swiftness with which the Appropriation Bill was handled
Mr Oleyelogun also appreciated the lawmakers for their support to his as speaker of the house.
