Yuletide: Amotekun Launches Southwest Inter-Border Patrol

Western Nigerian Security Network, code-named Amotekun, has began interborder patrol on Friday in an effort to combat criminal activity during the holiday season.

Officers from the Western Nigerian Security Network Agency are participating in the exercise between the states of Ondo and Osun while Ekiti, Ogun, and Oyo states will be added later.

To ensure sanity at home, in the forest, on the highways, in the water, and everywhere else in the Southwest region of this country, this operation is known as “Operation Gbale Gbako.”

Ondo State Amotekun Commander and Chairman of Southwest Amotekun Commanders, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who opened the border patrol exercise in Owena border town explained that the purpose of the operation was to ensure the southwest zone and its borders could celebrate Christmas and the new year without any problems.

Drivers and residents were guaranteed of their protection before, during, and after the holiday season by Chief Adeleye, who also serves as the governor of Ondo state’s special advisor on security affairs.

Retired Brigadier General Aderounbi, the Amotekun Commander in Osun State, said the community should work with the security organization and ensure that this time, another enormous success is achieved to boost security for people’s lives and property in the Southwest region.
