Omodewu’s Demise Is Tragic And Most Unfortunate – Lanlehin

Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan) has reacted to the death of Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State Chapter, as tragic and most unfortunate.

Recall that the death of the party administrator and former commissioner in the government of Senator Abiola Ajimobi was announced on Monday, 19 August 2024, as having occurred in the United States.

In a statement in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, by his Media Assistant, Dr Damola Adeoye, Lanlehin noted that Omodewu’s death has left a sour taste in the mouth, and was indeed a bitter pill to swallow, especially coming not far from that of another chieftain, Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, Honourable Member who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Lanlehin, who described Omodewu as a fine gentleman and a consumate politician whose passion for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Oyo State and Nigeria was largely evident, condoled family, friends, loved ones and associates of the deceased to take solace in the good name and unblemished record of service he left behind.

“His death, though untimely and quite tragic, takes nothing away from his amiable personality, commitment to the ideals of progressivism and love for the welfare of his people, indelible marks which stands him out as a worthy leader, and one whose void will be difficult to fill” Lanlehin noted.

Praying for the repose of the soul of the departed and that the Almighty grant everyone left behind the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, Lanlehin urged all to live their lives conscientiously and impactfully, in the realisation that death, in the noble words of Williams Shakespeare, is an “inevitable end that will come when it will come.”
