The Olubadan Designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin has promised to give priority to gender equality and respect for women, irrespective of their religious, tribe or status.
Oba Olakulehin made the promise when he received in his Alalubosa residence, wife of the inspector general of police who is also the president, Police Officers’ Wives Association, Elizabeth Egbetokun in company of wives of other police top hierarchy on a courtesy visit.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of the Olubadan-designate, Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, said the visit is of significance being the first delegation from the federal government and as women, a harbinger of peace and progress.
He appreciated the police officers wives association for the visit and for their support to the course of women emancipation in the country.
Earlier, Wife of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun called for stakeholders collaboration to empower Young Women in Agriculture, to further solve the issue of food insecurity in the Country
The IGP’s wife who was in Ibadan the Oyo state capital for an Agricultural programme was led to the palace by the wife of the state Commissioner of Police Mrs Abidemi Hamzat
Meanwhile, Mrs Egbetokun had earlier visited the state governor, Seyi Makinde and was received by his deputy, Barrister Adebayo Lawal..
In attendance were the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Eddy Oyewole; Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Kola Adegbola, the President of Ibadan Compound Head, Asimiyu Ariori, the state Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, and a host of others.
