Olorunsogo LG Chairman, Olayanju Boosts Grassroots Sports Dev’t, Inaugurates Igbeti Football Council
The executive chairman of Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has inaugurated the Igbeti town football council.
At the inauguration in Igbeti, Olorunsogo local government, Hon. Olayanju urged the football council chairman and members to forge developmental ways of uplifting football in the domain.
The LG chairman said, his administration will continue to support and channel efforts to the sporting activities in the community and provide all necessary support at the appropriate time.
He assured that the community stadium which is still under construction will be completed under his administration for the use of the community and neighboring communities.
The football council executives include, Mr. Olawore Sunday, CHAIRMAN, Hon (Mrs.) Aremu Rebecca, VICE CHAIRMAN, Mr. Babatunde Fasasi Jimoh SECRETARY, Hon. (Mr.) Olayiwola Abayomi, Assistant General Secretary while Mr. Hamzat Mutiu, Hon. (Mr.) Abdulkareem Lateef and Mr. Fashola Oluwatola are all members.
According to Olaxanju ” Football is a passion shared by all, myself included. We share the same passion and the same love for this noblest of sports. That is why we inaugurated this council for the community.
” When I think of football, I think of the youth. When we play football, we learn discipline and how to get along with others. We make friends and build our self-esteem, self-confidence, and pride.
” In short, football and other team sports can help the youth to become the exemplary citizens that we want them to be and create that healthy, caring, and loving society that we all aspire to.
” We will support and channel our efforts to the sporting activities in the community and provide all we can at the appropriate time.
“We will also ensure that the community stadium that is under construction will be completed in our administration for the use of the community and neighboring communities
” I would like to implore the Igbeti football council to be of excellent acts and ensure viable cooperation among themselves and also between the coaches, referees, the players, and the fans at large. It will help the smooth running of the council and will make the community come together in love through sports.
Olayanju in his speech also acknowledged the efforts of Igbeti Youth Association, Coach Association, and Refrees.
He said sporting activities in Igbeti town have always been active through their visions.
