‘Odidiomo’ Inspects Ring Rd – Elewura – Orita Challenge Abandoned Bridge, Pledges Prompt Intervention 

As part of efforts to address critical infrastructure challenges facing residents of Ring Road, Elewura, Orita challenge areas of Ibadan, the Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, on Saturday conducted an on the spot assessment of the abandoned bridge linking the three communities.

The visit was aimed at obtaining first hand information on the condition of the bridge and surrounding road network, as well as assessing the difficulties its abandonment has created for residents, motorists, traders and other road users in the area.

While interacting with residents and other users of the route to understand the difficulties created by the situation, Hon. Adedeji Olajide stressed the importance of physically assessing projects and infrastructure affecting constituents in order to properly understand their impact on the people.

The abandoned bridge, which serves an important link between communities and major commercial and residential areas around Ring Road, Elewura and Orita Challenge, has become a source of concern for residents and road users who rely on the route for their daily activities.

The two term federal lawmaker said infrastructure that directly affects the daily lives and economic activities of residents should not be allowed to deteriorate without appropriate attention.

He noted that effective representation requires elected officials to identify challenges within their constituencies, assess them personally and pursue appropriate solutions through the relevant authorities.

The federal lawmaker said the inspection would enable him to better understand the scope of work required and the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of the bridge.

He assured residents that the findings from the assessment would inform further engagement with relevant stakeholders and authorities on possible avenues for intervention.

Hon. Olajide stressed that the bridge was not merely a physical structure but an important component of the road network connecting communities and facilitating the movement of people, goods and services. According to him, restoring critical infrastructure in strategic locations could improve mobility, reduce pressure on alternative routes and support local economic activities.

The federal lawmaker further assured residents that he would explore every possible avenue to get the bridge fixed, promising to pursue the necessary engagements with relevant authorities and stakeholders consistently until a practical solution is achieved and the abandoned infrastructure is restored in record time.
