New Olubadan Magnificent Palace Commissioned
The new place of Olubadan of Ibadan situated at Oke Aremo, Yemetu, Ibadan, Oyo State, has been commissioned
With this development, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin would be the first Ibadan Monarch to occupy the befitting Official edifice.
Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde showered encomiums on his Predecessor in Office, late Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his efforts at actualizing the palace that Ibadan Indigenes could boast of.
Governor Makinde promised to renovate Bowers Towers at the back of the Palace which he said was one of the tourist attractions to Ibadan, saying Tourism is one of his plans to drive the economy of the State.
The Oyo State Governor appreciated all Ibadan sons and daughters for their support and development of the town, appealing to them not to relent at bringing more developmental projects to the ancient city.
Earlier, the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, Alhaji Ajeniyi Ajewole said, completion of the Palace project was due to the unflinching support of Governor Makinde who gave the Council a free hand to operate and supervised the works to completion.
Responding, the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin who was represented by the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe expressed appreciation to the Oyo State Governor for his role in the completion of the project.
