Muslims Go Spiritual Over Shortage Of Rainfall During Planting Season
Hundreds of Muslims in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, converged at the Osogbo Central Eid prayer ground to pray for rain as crops in various communities across the thirty Local Government Areas of the State continue to wither.
The Grand Imam and Chairman, the League of Imams and Alfas in Osun State, Sheikh Musa Animashaun led the Special prayer aimed to seek God’s intervention as regards the drought.
Sheikh Animashaun emphasized the importance of seeking Allah’s guidance and forgiveness during challenging times.
Other Islamic Clerics who attended the prayer session urged people to revisit their relationship with God, stressing that sins being committed were major contributing factors to the drought.
It was reported that, crops, including maize, yam, and millet, are drying up, with farmers expressing concern over potential losses.
