Twenty-five Legislators including the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Prince Adewale Egbedun who were elected through the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP have announced their defection to the Accord Party.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, to the Speaker, Mr. Olamide Tiamiyu, the decision was reached during a meeting, held at the Assembly Complex, Osogbo.

The Statement states ” The members had resigned from the PDP weeks ago. Following what they described as deep reflection and extensive consultations with supporters, political associates and key stakeholders, they resolved to align with Accord.”

The lawmakers expressed the conviction that Accord party would provide a more stable, inclusive and people-centred platform through which they could continue to serve the people of Osun State.
They explained that the move was driven by a determination to advance the collective interests of the people and to sustain development across the state.
The Legislators urged their supporters and well-wishers to remain steadfast and join them as they embark on the new political chapter.
The Lawmakers, thereafter meet with the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Top Accord leaders at the Government House, where they reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Governor who remained commited to quality representation, transparency as well as responsive leadership.
