The lawmaker representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and Aspirant for the 2027 General Elections, Hon. Akintunde Olajide (AKT), has congratulated the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagelu Local Government Area for what he described as the careful selection of competent individuals to constitute the party’s Campaign Council.
Hon. Olajide commended the party leadership in his words, “putting the right pegs into the right holes” through the selection of experienced and capable party members to drive its campaign activities ahead of the 2026 Local Government elections and the 2027 General Elections.

The lawmaker, in his reaction to the unveiling of the Campaign Council, particularly hailed the leadership of the party in Lagelu for assembling what he described as a strong grassroots-oriented team capable of mobilising support and strengthening the party’s structures across the local government.

The Lagelu APM leadership, headed by Chief Oribayo Okeyode, had formally unveiled the party’s Campaign Council ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Under the arrangement, the Campaign Council is headed by Hon. Jide Adeniran, former Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, as Director-General, while Alhaji Lanre Lantinwo, former Secretary to the Local Government, serves as Deputy Director-General.
The campaign structure has also been divided into three strategic zones, Lagelu West, Lagelu Central and Lagelu North to ensure effective coverage of the local government area.
According to the Party Leader, each zone is coordinated by a Deputy Director-General and an Assistant Deputy Director-General, with dedicated Ward Coordinators across the fourteen wards of the local government.
The Council also comprises various specialised committees saddled with responsibilities covering advisory oversight, finance, mobilisation, media and publicity, grassroots mobilisation, security, election management, as well as the women and youth wings of the party.
Olajide further congratulated the members of the Campaign Council on their appointments, expressing confidence that their experience, commitment and knowledge of the grassroots would contribute significantly to the success of the APM in the forthcoming elections.
He urged the members of the Council to work collectively and remain committed to the ideals of the party, stressing the need for unity, effective mobilisation and sustained engagement with the people at the grassroots.
The composition of the Council places Adeniran at the strategic helm of the APM campaign structure in Lagelu, while Lantinwo and other senior party members are saddled with critical operational, electoral and mobilisation responsibilities.
The APM leadership had earlier congratulated all appointed members and charged them to work together towards securing victory for the party in the forthcoming Local Government and general elections.
