The Ogun State police command has confirmed the gruesome murder of the Director of Finance and Administration, Mr Taiwo Oyekanmi attached to the Governor’s Office in Oke Mosan Abeokuta by suspected armed robbers.
Late Oyekanmi who sustained bullet wounds on his thigh and private part, was confirmed dead at the State General Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.
A Statement by the Force Public Relations officer, Omolola Odutola said the deceased was said to have been gunned down by yet to be identified five armed men at Kuto overhead bridge ,while coming from a bank where he had gone to make withdrawals.
The statement noted that the suspects armed with sophisticated ammunition were traveling in an unregistered silver Toyota Corolla, suddenly trapped the mini Bullion van and carted away an unspecified amount of cash.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Alamutu said no arrests have been made so far as efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects .
