A Sports fan from the United States, Alhaji Tajudeen Rabiu, has stated that he is willing to work with Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Center, Liberty Stadium Ibadan on the newly launched netball game for girls in Oyo state.
Following a tour of the center’s amenities, Alhaji Rabiu expressed his admiration for the variety of equipment on display and promised to support the installation of modern machinery in the center’s laboratory.
“The lab caught my interest and the netball game is also second to none. I know about basketball but netball is new. It’s not her mission, it’s everybody’s mission to develop talents in our girls. So I’m indebted to her to render any assistance she requires”
“I know her capacity and what she can do, she doesn’t do things on local level but internationally. I know this is going to be a big stuff when it manifests. Government has not recognised her for what she’s doing. She deserves more recognition and support from government.”
“I know her very well, she’s been spending her personal funds on sports development in the grassroots especially in Oyo State.”
Speaking, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, the Chief Executive Officer, Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Center, expressed her gratitude for the gesture and mentioned that her efforts in sports and career development in Oyo State were starting to pay off.
Last month, the Netball Association of Oyo State’s Chairperson, Ambassador Ayinde, launched the state’s women’s netball program with the goal of identifying potential players and preparing them for exposure on a global scale.
Netball, according to Ambassador Ayinde, is a great way to involve girls in society and prevent them from becoming victims of social vices that could ruin their futures.
“By the time we engage the ladies and girls, I know they have a lot on their mind, playing netball will rehabilitate them and give them a new focus of life”
