Governors from the South West are gathering in Ibadan for an emergency meeting focused on urgent regional issues, especially the rising security concerns across the zone.
The session, taking place behind closed doors at the Governor’s Office in Agodi, is being hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
All six governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti are expected at the meeting.
Although details of the agenda are still limited, sources said the gathering was called to examine escalating security threats, accelerate key development projects and reinforce regional cooperation through the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria.
The governors are also expected to assess ongoing joint security efforts, particularly the operations of the Amotekun Corps, amid new security challenges in the region.
