Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde has presented a budget estimate of N891 billion naira to the state house of assembly.
According to the budget estimate tagged Budget Of Economic Expansion”, 542 billion Naira goes for Capital expenditure which is 56.4 percentage of the budget while 389 billion naira is budgeted for recurrent expenditure, which represents 46.4 percentage of the total budget.

Governor Makinde said 210 Billion naira is to take care of the infrastructural development of the state, taking the largest percentage of the budget with 23.5%

Education takes 155 billion with 17.4 percentage of total budget while Health takes 70 billion, with 7.9 percentage and Agricuktur 19 billion, 2.24
The governor said the budget of Economic Expansion is to convert economic stability into opportunities, linking infrastructure and human capital designed to make Oyo state business and logistics hub in the southwest
He said the budget is expected to Open Oyo state to global logistics and tourism, stabilizing the economy, create jobs and boost businesses
The governor said the state’s African continental free trade area initiative, Oluyole free trade zone, special agro processing zone, upgrade of Samuel Akinola airport to international standard, circular road, regional connectivity to key commercial hub, taking Oyo state to global space
Reacting, speaker of the house, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin said the assembly will ensure that every Naira is accounted for and work with the executive to ensure budget performance.
