JUST IN: Oyo Assembly Okays 2025 Appropriation Bill, Jerks Budget By N6 Billion Naira
The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed and approved an upward review of the state’s budget, increasing it from ₦678 billion to ₦684 billion.
This approval came after the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation, and State Economic Planning presented its report read by its Chairman, Mr. Sunkanmi Babalola representing Egbeda State Constituency at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin.
According to the Speaker, one major reason for the upward review of the 2025 budget to N684b is to accommodate emerging priorities and critical projects that will drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of our citizens.
Recall that, Governor Seyi Makinde on November 13, 2024 presented a budget proposal of Six hundred and Seventy-Eight billion, Eighty-Six million, Seven hundred and Sixty-Seven thousand, Three hundred and Thirty-Two naira, Eighteen kobo (#678,086,767,332.18).
