JUST IN: Osun Governor, Adeleke Resigns From PDP, Gives Reason

‎Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, effective since November 4, 2025.

‎The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.

‎According to the release, Governor Adeleke communicated his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State.

‎In the letter, the Governor attributed his decision to what he described as a lingering crisis within the national leadership of the party.

‎He stated that the situation had compelled him to withdraw his membership with immediate effect.

‎“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect,” the governor wrote in the letter personally signed by him.

‎Governor Adeleke also expressed appreciation to the party for the platform it provided throughout his political journey, including his election as Senator representing Osun West and his subsequent emergence as Governor of Osun State.
