The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), has directed members, to ensure full compliance for the October 3 nationwide strike.
The strike action was announced by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC)
Specifically, NUPENG, said the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, PTD; Petrol Stations Workers, PSW; Liquefied Petroleum Gas Retailers, LPGAR, and all other allied workers in the value chain of petroleum products distribution must comply with the strike from midnight of Tuesday, October 3.
This comes after the NLC denied entering into any pact with the Federal Government to suspend its planned indefinite strike slated to commence on October 3.
The denial came after the Director of Press, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr. Olajide Oshundun, was quoted in some sections of the media as saying that there was an agreement between the organised labour and the government to suspend the proposed strike.
