The Kogi State House of Assembly complex, which is situated in Crusher Area, Lokoja, has been completely destroyed by a morning fire.
The fire severely damaged the house’s floor as it tore through the Chamber’s roof.
Among the first visitors to the assembly complex were the Speaker of the House, Mathew Kolawole, and the State Security Advisor, Commander Jerry Omodara.
No one has been able to identify the fire’s origins as of the time this report was filed.
The Speaker of the Assembly stated that he believes there has been sabotage, although he did not specify where it may have originated.
When asked if it might have been connected to the recent events between the Assembly and the Dangote group, he responded that the security should make that determination.
“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker said.
However,a source who do not want his name in print said he suspected explosion but couldn’t say who might be responsible.
