Joseph Odemuyiwa, former Special Adviser on Technical Education to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has died in a fatal car accident.
Odemuyiwa, a Professor of Business Education with a passion for training people in vocational skills, reportedly lost his life on Tuesday on his way to Ibadan.
The demise of the professor was confirmed by the lawmaker representing Remo North State constituency, Dickson Awolaja.
Awolaja, who is also from Isara Remo just like the late professor said, “I just confirmed from a friend not long ago. Prof was said to be going to Ibadan when he had the accident. This is sad.”
Odemuyiwa was known as a Nigerian professor with skills in 19 vocations.
Aside from his academic qualifications, Joseph Odemuyuwa learned many vocations from artisans and informal vocational centers to further equip himself with the required skills.
He was the immediate past President of the Workplace Educators and Managers Association of Nigeria (WEMAN).
Odemuyiwa, aged 66 was once a lecturer at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, as well as Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun both owned by the state government.
