The federal government delegation led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation on Monday visited Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to pay condolence visit to the family of the late designer of National Flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi
The delegation whose port of call was at the Governor’s office to intimate Engineer Seyi Makinde of its mission in the state was recieved by the deputy governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal at the executive chamber.
Speaking, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Malagi eulogised the visionary virtue of the the late designer of the national flag for envisaging the unity and peaceful coexistence of Nigeria as a nation with the colours green-white-green.
The minister noted that the federal government would play key role in organising a befitting burial for the deceased while condoling the governor and the entire people of Oyo state for the loss of the iconic figure.
Reacting, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal who paid glowing tributes to the late Illustrious son of Ogun state pa Akinkunmi, appreciated the gesture and stressed that the generation unborn would continue to see the deceased a reference point for national service.
Earlier, the minister and his entourage were recieved at the Ibadan Airport by heads of federal government establishments including Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr. Dominic Mokikan represented by Deputy Director Engineering Services Engineer Gabriel Ajayi.
