Ibarapa East LG Holds Inter-Faith Prayer, Get Together, As Hon. Arogundade Pledges Better Working Relationship

The National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) hall in Ibarapa East Local Government, Eruwa, was on Thursday filled to capacity as the council held its new year Inter-Faith Prayer as well as get together, organized by the council’s NULGE, under the Chairmanship of Com. Sola Olaotan.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade Congratulated the workforce both at the main council and Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lanlate for their dedication and loyalty in 2024.

The council boss, however, pledged his total cooperation with members of staff across the council, urging them to give best to the progress of the present administration.

Hon. Arogundade further stressed that he would not deprive the workforce of their rights, adding that his administration would support any suggestion or advice that is for the betterment of the current administration.

In his contribution, the councils Vice Chairman who doubles as Political Head of Ibarapa North-East Local Council Development Area ( LCDA), Lanlate, Hon. Jacob Olakunle Olalowo charged members of staff to collaborate fully with the government saying, the present administration in the state and Ibarapa East are uniquely different from previous governments because of the visionary capacity of the governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde and the council chairman, Hon. Arogundade.

The Political Head noted that prompt payment of salaries, recruitment of both TESCOM and SUBEB teachers as well as employment of young graduates into the Oyo State Civil Service Commission are commendable.

In his goodwill address, the Head of the Local Government Administration (HLGA) of the council, Pastor Sunday Idowu Adegoke described the present government as one of the best so far in the history of the state and Ibarapa East.

Pastor Adegoke stressed that governor Seyi Makinde is an outstanding man par excellence and he made reference to regular promotion of workers and increase in workforce salary.

He pledged on behalf of the workers, absolute support to the current administration in Oyo State.

Earlier, the Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Com. Sola Olaotan encouraged the workers to be committed, adding that the government was unrelenting to create incentives to the workers at all times.

The colourful event featured dancing competition and presentation of cash gift to retirees, first and second members of staff who dressed more elegantly, and others.

Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade presented #30,000 naira to first position, #25,000 naira to 2nd position, #20,000 naira to 3rd position and #10,000 naira to fourth position after the dancing competition.

He also presented #20,000 naira and #10,000 naira to the first and second persons who dressed more attractively.

The number one citizen of Ibarapa East Local Government also presented #100,000 to female members of staff at Eruwa council Secretariat and #50,000 naira to female workers at the Lanlate LCDA and #55,000 for the retirees.

Highpoint of the event was the prayer offered by Muslim and Christian religious leaders for government and members of staff after brief words of encouragement.
