Rep. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, who represents the Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has paid the medical bills of Mr. Kunle Olanite, a constituent who has glaucoma.
At a presentation ceremony on Wednesday in Ibadan, people in her constituency praised her initiative.
Akande-Sadipe provided two physically challenged attendees with financial grants and a chest freezer at the event as well.
The lawmaker gave Mr. Tella Ademola, a constituent with mobility issues, a chest freezer, while Mrs. Muyibat Babalola, who is blind, received a grant to help her start a business.
Rep. Tolu Akande-Sadipe, who Chairs the House Committee on Diaspora said she offered Mr. Kunle Olanite funds for his medical treatment and surgical intervention on a diagnosed Glaucoma/Retinal Damage.
“This award was given in reference to the medical report obtained from the Oyo State Hospital Management Board. Everybody needs sight for a fruitful existence and where we can prevent sight loss we must support our fellow mankind”, she said.
While Akande-Sadipe wished the patient a speedy recovery, she equally urged him to make use of the grant exactly for the purpose it is meant for.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, a relative of the patient, Mrs. Romoke Olanike said Akande-Sadipe’s gesture is laced with spiritual connotation.
According to her, when a woman with milk of human kindness practically demonstrates it, it should not be mistaken for politics.
