It was a moment of joy and celebration of achievements as guests, distinguished personalities and people from all walks of life attended the annual convention and investiture of the 9th President of the Junior Chamber International, JCI Ibadan Elite.
Newsarena.ng reports that the event had in attendance a board member, UBA group, Dr Kayode Fasola who is the chairman on the occasion, and a management Consultant, Dr Abdulrasaq Oladele Bakare who is the guest speaker.


Speaking on the topic “Catalysts Of Excellence: Forging A Legacy Of Leadership” Dr Abdulrasaq Oladele Bakare identified seven leadership styles including Autocratic, Democratic, laissez faire, transactional, situational and servant leadership.

Dr. Bakare explained that potential leaders must choose to see possibilities rather than limitations, noting that a leader must concentrate on capacity building, continuous training and avoid treating team members as disposable.
He said “leadership is about empowering others, providing guidance, and doing this in a conducive, supportive atmosphere. I enjoy collaboration aimed at achieving meaningful results. I also enjoy working with a team; I am not a lone ranger as I love collaboration toward achieving meaningful results”.
In his address of welcome, the chairman on the occasion, Dr Kayode Fasola commended the outgoing president, describing him as an individual who is passionate, articulate, detailed and straight forward.
He urged all JCI members to adhere to the content of the vision and mission, so as to encourage more people to join the organisation.
While speaking, the outgoing president, JCIN AMB Ilerioluwa Johnson Babatunde explained that the theme of the convention focused on the need to see leadership as an igniting factor for change.
Mr Babatunde said every JCI Ibadan Elite members serve as a catalyst for positive change.
He said “royalty is not inherited here, it is earned through service, vision and courage to lead.”

Speaking shortly after her investiture as the 9th president of JCI Ibadan Elite, JCIN AMB Ibukunoluwa Otesile said that the theme for 2026 will be D.R.E.E.P. which she explained to mean Deeply Root Elevating Excellence and Possibilities.
She said D.R.E.E.P speaks about who they are and where they are going.
She added that her administration will focus on development of transformational leaders and mentorship.
Otesile said members will not only shine in JCI but will thrive in business, governance and community development.
The event featured induction of new members and award presentation.
