FG Lists Routes, Companies Participating In 50% Slash On Transport Fares

The Federal Government, under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has disclosed the names of the companies that would take part in the interstate transportation cutback of fifty percent.

Additionally, a list of 28 routes that will provide passengers the 50% discount during the Yuletide was also released by the government.

Recall that on Wednesday, the government authorized a drop in public travel costs and free train service for Nigerians beginning on Thursday, December 21, 2023, and ending on January 4, 2024.

The five participating transport companies in the initiative were however disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy on Thursday.

Onanuga in a post made on X on Thursday, stated that FG has partnered with at least five transport companies, including God is Good (GIG), Chisco Transport, Young Shall Grow, God Bless Ezenwata, and Area Motor.

He wrote, “Participating companies in the FG’s plan to reduce the transport burden of travelling five million Nigerians:

1. GIG ( God is Good)
2. Chisco Transport
3. Young Shall Grow
4. God Bless Ezenwata
5. Area Motor.”

The routes included Lagos to Kano, Lagos to Abuja, Lagos to Kaduna-Zaria, Lagos to Jos, Lagos to Enugu, Lagos to Onitsha, Owerri, Aba, Abakaliki, Nsukka, Uyo, and Port Harcourt.

Passengers traveling on the routes of Onitsha to Kano, and Onitsha to Lagos, Jos, Abuja, Sokoto, Gombe, and Zakibiam have also been listed to benefit from the government packages.
