Ex-Oyo NURTW Boss, ‘Auxilliary’ Collapses In Court

Proceedings at the Oyo State High Court sitting at Ring Road, Ibadan, were abruptly halted following the sudden collapse of a former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary.

The incident occurred during the hearing of a criminal matter involving Alhaji Lamidi and the Oyo State Government, while the defendant was seated in the courtroom awaiting the call of his case.

The defendant suddenly slumped, causing panic in the courtroom and prompting immediate intervention by court officials.

As a result of the unexpected development, the presiding judge, Justice Bayo Taiwo, was unable to continue with the day’s proceedings.

Alhaji Lamidi was immediately evacuated from the court premises and taken to the clinic at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Agodi, for urgent medical attention.
