The Edo State Chapter of the Coalition of Registered Political Parties(CRPP), has thrown its weight behind the aspirations of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls in the state.
In a statement by its Chairman, Dr. Samson Isibor and the Secretary, Hon. Andrew Igwemor, the CRPP said: “In our deliberation, we resolved to put the record straight and throw our support to the person that initiated and influenced the ongoing rehabilitation of the Benin – Ekpoma Road.
“The truth is not farfetched. We can confirm that Senator Monday Okpebholo(aka Akpakomiza) influenced President Bola Tinubu to please come to the aid of his Edo people who have been suffering the effects of some failed portions of the road for the past eight years.
“The governor has never put any palliative to allow motorists manage the road especially the trucks coming from the northern part of the country, that always had to spend days on a particular bad portion of the road.”
Going further, the CRPP averred that “in no distant time BUA Cement Company was moved to the Ekpoma site of the road. It’s a laughing stock to see the state government wanting to take the glory for what they did not do for almost eight good years that he has been ruling us not minding what Edo people have been passing through on the impassable road. Now that someone have risen to the occasion to help the masses, they’re tumbling on each other claiming the glory.”
In conclusion, the CRPP told Senator Okpebbolo, “we assure you of our unflinching support and vote during the September governorship election. We’re now wiser Edo people need a listening and considerate leader who feels the pulse of the people.”
