Easter: Oyo Speaker, Ogundoyin Urges Nigerians to Embrace Compassion, Prayer

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has called on Nigerians to reflect deeply on the true meaning of Easter, urging them to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and prayer as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

In his Easter message released on Sunday, the Speaker reminded citizens that the season is a reminder of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and resurrection, which symbolises hope, renewal, and redemption.

“Let us use this sacred season to pray fervently for our nation and recommit ourselves to values that foster peace, unity, and progress. Just as Jesus overcame death and brought salvation, we must not give up on the Nigeria project,” Ogundoyin said.

He emphasized that despite the current economic and social challenges confronting the nation, Nigerians must continue to believe in the future of the country and work collectively to build a stronger, more prosperous nation.

According to the Speaker, “Nigeria is passing through tough times, no doubt, but with shared responsibility, national unity, and sincere leadership, we will overcome and emerge stronger. Easter teaches us that sfter trials, there will be great triumphs.”
