Clash Between Hausa, Yoruba In Ibadan Reportedly Claims One Life

Report reaching newsarena.ng says Hausa and Yoruba people have clashed on Sunday in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, and at least one death has been reportedly recorded.

According to report, disorder erupted after Mufutau Sanni, a lottery kiosk operator known as Baba Ijebu, was reportedly died after suffering injuries while attempting to break up a brawl between a Hausa man and his Yoruba counterpart on MKO Abiola Way.

An eyewitness who witnessed the entire incident claims that the conflict began when a dispute developed between a Hausa dealer and his client, which prompted Sanni to intervene with the intention of resolving the issue.

However, Sanni’s involvement did not sit well with Hausas, who primarily ride commercial motorcycles, and they descended heavily on him.

The attack on Sanni placed him in an hospital, where unsubstantiated reports claimed he passed away, according to the eyewitness.

the Nigerian Police personnel and Amotekun have taken over the security of the scene of the attack as of the time of this report
