Cholera Outbreak: Council Vice Chairman, Bisi Akande Counsels Ibarapa N’West LCDA Residents

As part of his efforts aimed at avoiding widespread of cholera outbreak, the Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government who is also the Political Head of Ibarapa North/West Local Council Development Area ( LCDA), Igangan, Hon. Bisi Akande has admonished the people of the area to collaborate with Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The Ibarapa North/West LCDA boss stated this while speaking with NewsArena in a telephone interview.
According to Hon. Akande ,”Cholera epidemic is something the state is avoiding, presently we do not have a case in Oyo state during to state government’s proactive approach and the government was exerting her influence at avoiding the spread, but there is the need to support the government in fighting the cholera outbreak.
The astute politician noted that the disease could be contracted through contact with victims, unhygienic environment and contaminated food and water. He emphasized the urgent need for keeping the environment clean to curb spreading of the disease.
While commending the Oyo State Government for putting preventive measures in place to confront the outbreak, the LCDA boss enjoined the residents to visit the maternity centers to meet with the health workers so as to learn on how this outbreak could be prevented.
He, however, called for more support of Ibarapa North/West LCDA residents with the government of Oyo State so that good works could continue across the State.
Hon. Akande also used the opportunity to appreciate the leaders and loyalists of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), adding that no stone would be left unturned of his electioneering campaign promises.
