Two men, Samson Ojuawo, twenty three years old, and Ojuawo Solomon, fifty five years have appeared before a chief magistrate court sitting in Oyo town for allegedly obstructing some police officers in the lawful performance of their duties.
According to police prosecutor, inspector Adedotun Alarape, the accused persons and others now at large were said to have sometime last month prevented the arrest of some criminals at a village in Oyo West local government area by blocking the road with logs of wood.
They were also accused of causing pandemonium in the area by attacking the police team led by SP Adeyeye Temitope.
In the five count charge brought against them, they were alleged to have given false information at Ojongbodu police station that police fired them on the head with their rifle, whereas it was broken bottles used to injure themselves, all offences punishable under the law.
They however pleaded not guilty of the charges and were each granted bail in the sum of one hundred thousand naira with two reliable sureties each before the case was adjourned for further hearing.
