Award Winning Media Expert, Hadizat Ibrahim Elected Into Int’l Academy of Television Arts, Science
The Founder/Executive Producer of a blossoming media firm in Lagos – Nigeria, March 31 Media, M31M, Hadiza Ibrahim has been elected into the prestigious International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York City.
International Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences, founded in 1969, is a membership organization comprising of leading entertainment figures across all sectors of the television industry, from over sixty countries.
The academy, known for recognizing excellence in television programming with the International Emmy Award also comprises of the world’s television and media leaders who come together to exchange ideas, discuss common issues and promote new strategies for the future development of quality global television programming.
Hadiza’s recognition on a prestigious global platform is a testament to her rising influence in the TV film industry and spotlights her continued dedication to her craft.
In a chat with newsmen Hadizat, who recently celebrated 20 years in the media industry with the launch of her online course tagged “Fundamentals of Production”, believes her passion about creating excellent media production and empowering young creatives to kickstart and build their media career earned her, the latest feather to her already studded cap, this time a global recognition.
She said “with over 20 years’ experience, I have vast expertise with storytelling, budgeting, scheduling and overseeing content from development to post production and broadcast across multiple content genres, ranging from studio, live and location-based TV productions.
“I started my career on radio at Premier FM 93.5 on the show, “Thank God It’s Friday” with Niyi Dahunsi. I got a 5-minute slot but soon caught the attention of other established presenters who took me under their wings and with their expert tutelage shaped me into an excellent newscaster, programmes presenter and producer.
“As a graduate of Human Nutrition, I am keen on ensuring that messages about cost-effective solutions to tackle health and nutrition challenges (such as exclusive breastfeeding and food fortification) reach the widest audience possible, through compelling content and engaging narratives.
“So I presented and produced a sponsored radio show “IPILE ILERA” which when translated means the foundation of health.
“This Radio show was broadcast across four states in South West Nigeria, and I received my first award as THE VOICE OF NUTRITION IN THE MEDIA. I also produced and presented several other shows on radio and in 2012,
“I received a nomination for BEST RADIO PRESENTER and a Commendation certificate from the Nigeria Media Merit Award, NMMA.
She further stated that “I made the transition to full time film and TV production in 2014, starting with M-Net as a Production Manager, before moving on to Line Producer.
“Through my excellent work ethics, storytelling expertise, and creativity, I was appointed as Commissioning Editor at Africa Magic where I supervised the production of over 40 original movies working with Nollywood’s finest Producers and Directors.
” I also produced the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) Red Carpet Live show for many years.
“In 2018, I resigned at M-Net to nurture my freelance production career, but not before receiving a letter of commendation for “EXTRAORDINARY CONTRIBUTION TO PRODUCTION”.
“In 2020, I floated my own production company, March 31 Media (M31M) which has blossomed and produced awardwinning works and earned several nominations.
“Some of M31M movies include The Counsellor, All Mine, The Playbook, Omowunmi, as well as the docu-reality series, “The Irabors Forever After,nominated as Best Unscripted M-Net Original at the 2024 AMVCAs.
Hadizat’s production credits include international formats, (THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF LAGOS, THE VOICE NIGERIA SEASON 3), movies (THE COUNSELLOR, ALL MINE, THE PLAYBOOK, OMOWUNMI), TV shows/series (JARA, 53 EXTRA, TINSEL, ACCESS THE STARS, FUZE TALENT SHOW SEASON 1), docu-reality series (THE WELLINGTONS WEDDING SERIES, OUR PERFECT WEDDING SEASON 1).
Hadizat is an AMVCA-nominated Producer for the series The Irabors Forever After as well as Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival-nominated Producer in the Best Producer African (2024) category and the Best Female Filmmaker – International (2023) category.
Hadizat holds a Certificate in Line Producing from the New York Film Academy as well as BSc & MSc in Human Nutrition from the University of Ibadan. She is a Member of Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) and Nutition Society of Nigeria (NSN).
When she is not working, she enjoys travelling and making memories with her adorable Daughter.
