“A Competent Government Would Open Up Oke-ogun To Encourage Younger Investors Into Farming – Oyo Guber Candidate
Opening up the Oke – Ogun area of Oyo State for robust agriculture development has been identified as part of the measures to increase the economic prosperity of Oyo State.
The governorship candidate of the Accord party, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu stated this while responding to why the prospects of industrial agriculture remained underutilized in a state with such arable land.
Oloye Adelabu nostalgically remembered how agriculture was the mainstay of Nigeria’s economy before the discovery of crude oil and noted how the sector accounted for 57.0% of GDP and generated 64.5% of export earnings in the sixties. In his opinion, the southwestern states thrived and invested in quality infrastructure during that period.
He explained that a competent government would open up okeogun by constructing good roads and investing in other infrastructures like schools, electricity, and the internet to encourage younger investors into farming.
Oloye Adelabu implored the people to educate themselves about the capabilities of all those candidates who have presented themselves to govern while urging everyone eligible to vote to get their PVC to cast their ballot to save Oyo State from completely falling off the economic cliff.
