Primaries: Aspirants Withdraw Suit Against Ajimobi’s Candidacy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House Of Assembly candidate for Ibadan South-West Constituency II in Oyo state, Alhaji Idris Abiola-Ajimobi, has commended his co-contestants for withdrawing suit against his candidature.

Alhaji Idris gave the commendation in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Lateef Alade and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan.

Idris-Ajimobi, the son of late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, said that the plaintifs had demonstrated high level of maturity and loyalty to the party by withdrawing the suit they instituted against his candidacy.

The candidate appreciated the aspirants and party leaders on their intervention which led to the amicable resolution of the issue.

He assured all members of the party including his co-contestants of quality representation, promising to justify the confidence reposed on him.

“I assure our leaders, co-contestants, constituents and other members of the party that I will justify the confidence reposed in me through quality representation.

It would be recalled that Idris Abiola-Ajimobi had won the party’s primaries on May 26 to contest the Ibadan South-West II State Constituency seat in the 2023 general elections.

The duo of Michael Famurewa and Olawale Ayilara, who contested the Assembly primaries against Idris Abiola-Ajimobi had approached the court over the outcome of the primaries.

The court had struck out the case challenging Abiola- Ajimobi’s candidature after the duo of Famurewa and Ayilara withdrew the suit in his honour.
