A private jet shocked residents after landing and taking off on an expressway near Asaba.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed the aircraft missed its approach at Ogwashi-Uku and diverted to the roadway.

The aviation regulator disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, describing the aircraft’s subsequent departure as a violation of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations.

It said it was more alarming that the plane later departed for Lagos without clearance.
On arrival in Lagos, the NCAA grounded the jet.
“The crew is now under investigation, while the operator’s Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF) has been suspended pending a full review of operational and maintenance records.
The agency said all occupants safely exited the aircraft and were transported by road to Asaba.
It said that the aircraft had four crew members on board, and no injuries were reported.
Aviation authorities said both the emergency landing and unauthorized departure are under strict regulatory scrutiny.
It added that the flight crew had been placed under regulatory review while inquiries continue into both the initial occurrence and the unauthorized departure.
