PHOTOS: Ibarapa East LG Legislators Inspect Ongoing Rehabilitation Of Ipin River • Eulogizes Gov. Makinde, Hon Arogundade

The Ibarapa East Local Government legislative arm led by the Leader of the House, Hon.(Mrs) Rachael Oyenike Azeez on Friday 14th February, 2025 inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of collapsed portion of Ipin river along old Ibadan -Eruwa road.
Other Honourable members that accompanied leader of the House are; Hon. Lasunkanmi Akintola, Deputy Leader of the House, Ward 5; Hon. Abimbola Adeyemi, Majority Leader of the House, Ward 4; Hon. Idowu Osuolale Olayiwola, Ward1; Hon. Nurudeen Oladeni, Ward 2; Hon. Johnson Adeyemi, Ward 6, Hon. Jamiu Abiola, Ward 9, and newly swore-in Supervisor from Ward 3, Hon. Abiodun Bello.

It would be recalled that the heavy rain that fell on Saturday 12 October, 2024 damaged a portion of the said river.
Newsarena.ng also reported on Tuesday 22nd October, 2024, that the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde paid a visit to the collapsed portion of the river and promised to rehabilitate it.
Speaking with newsarena.ng on behalf of other Honourable members shortly after the inspection, the leader of the House, Ibarapa East Local Government Hon. (Mrs) Rachael Oyenike Azeez expressed profound gratitude to the number one citizen of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for fulfilling his promise to the good people of Ibarapa East Local Government.
Hon. Azeez noted that the project was ongoing as it is expected.
The leader of the House encouraged the people of the area and Oyo State in general to give maximum support to the present government led by Engr. Seyi Makinde, assuring that the governor would fulfil all his electioneering promises before the expiration of his tenure.
The leader also used the medium to appreciate Governor Makinde for prompt payment of salaries and recruitment of teachers at both Primary and Secondary schools in the State.
Hon. Azeez however described the conversion of ad-hoc members of staff into permanent staff across the 33 local governments as the first of its kind in the history of Oyo State in the democratic dispensation.
Other members of the delegation who expressed satisfaction on the work done on the site, commended the Ibarapa East Council Chairman, Hon. Kazeem Arogundade for being pragmatic and proactive to welfare of constituents.
They appreciated the chairman for the prompt steps taken after the portion of the river collapsed which they said was instrumental to the quick intervention of the state government.
Meanwhile, one of the site workers who spoke to newsarena.ng on condition of anonymity said the ongoing project would be completed by April, 2025.
