The Oyo State Police Command has refuted rumors making the rounds on the social media that fifty persons have died in a mysterious circumstances in the state.
According to the rumour, the development had led to declaration of a State of Emergency in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state Adewale Osifeso in a statement made available to Radio Nigeria said the story was a figment of the author’s imagination.
He also warned members of the public against the spread of fake and unverified news capable of disrupting the enviable relative tranquility in the State.
He further urged people of Oyo State to go about their lawful businesses without any fear or molestation as the Command will not renege on its statutory duties of protecting all lives and property.
