It was a moment of joy, expression of gratitude, and reassurance of hope for better days for residents and Indigenes of Igbeti, Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state as the council’s executive chairman, Hon Qozeem Olayanju presented a cash gift to 50 widows and elderly in the council during his empowerment program, to mark the first 100 days in office.

Considering his strong passion for education and empowerment for the youths, Hon Olayanju also presented free National Examination Council, NECO, and GCE forms to twenty indigent secondary school students.

In addition to the empowerment of the aged, widows, and students, the Olorunsogo council boss during the event also commissioned a fully renovated former SUBEB office in the council and handed over the befitting office to the Department of State Service, DSS, for use.

Because of Olayanju’s drive and taste for infrastructural development in Olorunsogo local government, the council boss also commissioned a fully furnished modern hall, which was a dilapidated structure formerly used for the Television viewing Centre, constructed by the first executive chairman of the council, Hon. Azeez Akanji Bello.

Olayanju, however, approved that the community hall should be named after the first executive chairman of the local government, Hon. Azeez Akanji Bello [BELAZ].

While giving his account of stewardship during a town hall meeting, Hon. Olayanju, who had represented the Olorunsogo/Irepo state constituency in the Oyo state House of Assembly, thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his quality leadership and support for the involvement of youths in politics.

He also appreciated the Onigbeti of Igbeti land Oba Bashir Olalekan Siyanbade IV, a community and respected leader in the PDP in Igbeti, Chief J.G Adetoro, all PDP leaders, members ,and the council’s legislative arm for their supports to the Seyi Makinde’s administration and the local government before and after his inauguration as the executive chairman.

Olayanju said he had earlier handed over a newly constructed area police command to the Oyo state police command, dredged major carnal in the council, resuscitated a faulty tractor and restored electricity to the council secretariat after five years of blackout.

He, however promised to continue to prioritize the welfare of the people, instrastructure development, quality leadership and delivery of dividend of democracy.

In the separate reactions, the Onigbeti of Igbeti land, Oba Bashir Olalekan Siyanbade IV and Chief J.G Adetoro described Olayanju as a silent achiever and a God sent who is working round the clock to ensure Olorunsogo local government is envied among councils in Oyo state.

They appealed to residents to continue to support Hon Olayanju in his quest to put Olorunsogo in enviable height.

Some of the community members and beneficiaries including Alabi Dorcas, Qoudri Taibat, and Wuraola Modupe from the women’s list, and Ajayi Deborah, Bolarinwa Elijah, and Tijani Mubinat from the student’s list could not hide their joy, and appreciation for Hon Olayanju, noting that the young politician has shown the true meaning of good governance to Olorunsogo LG

While appealing to the council chairman not to relent in his commitment, they promised to make good use of the gesture and facilities provided for them and the community.
