Oyo CJ Releases Inmates From Abolongo Prison
Another thirty-eight inmates in Oyo state have been granted pardon by the Chief Judge of Oyo state, Justice Iyabo Yerima.
The 38 inmates who received the leniency at the Nigerian Correctional Service, medium security custodial centre, Abolongo, Oyo town, included those pardoned for stealing, burglary, breach of peace and on health grounds .
In his admonition to the released inmates, Chief Judge Of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima, represented by Justice Ladiran Akintola implored them to turn a new leaf and make themselves useful to the society.
Justice Yerima reiterated that the exercise is part of effort at decongesting the Nigeria Prisons.
In a remark, controller of corrections, Nigerian Correctional Service, Oyo State command, Mr Abdulraheem Salami noted that he was particularly glad on the number of inmates who regained their freedom.
Recall that 31 inmates were pardoned by the Chief Judge, Justice Iyabo Yerima at the Agodi custodial centre Ibadan on Monday.
